Today on The View, conservative actress, Patricia Heaton was on, and Joy Behar asked her how she thought the press treated Sarah Palin, to which Patricia responded “horribly.” Then Behar counters with “she didn’t deserve it?”
Patricia rightly says that she was mocked for the way she spoke. She was very chagrined that the Democrats in this country were supposed to be the party for the working class person, but then when a “working-class person rears their ugly head and talks differently, and they make fun of them and say ‘what a hick, what a ruse.’”
Then Whoopi responds with “when black folks did it they called it ebonics.”
Excuse me? I guess I must speak ebonics, too, because I’m a plain-spoken person just like Sarah.
All of you who are fans of Boston Legal will recognize the irony in this. Alan gets a client who says she was fired from her job because she voted for McCain, so that wouldn’t be up Alan’s alley, right? Alan reluctantly takes the case, but you’ll see in the end who it truly skewers.
I don’t take Boston Legal seriously; otherwise it would be unwatchable due to its leftist leanings. But it’s so damn funny that I’ve been addicted to it for years. William Shatner has also been great fodder for previous clips as “DENNY CRANE!”
Scary. Just plain ol’ scary. If you can watch this video made by a group called “How Obama Got Elected.” From their site:
On Election day twelve Obama voters were interviewed extensively right after they voted to learn how the news media impacted their knowledge of what occurred during the campaign. These voters were chosen for their apparent intelligence/verbal abilities and willingness to express their opinions to a large audience. The rather shocking video below seeks to provide some insight into which information broke through the news media clutter and which did not.
Frightening, indeed. But these are the folks who chose the next President of the United States. You will get what you wished for and even more. Don’t blame me - I voted for Palin and that other guy.
