Guess Who Did Visit Our Wounded Troops?

h/t Matt at Blackfive for steering me to Mrs. Greyhawk’s Mudville Gazette post that is a must-read.

A top Iraqi official visited wounded American troops at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., Tuesday to thank them for their part in ending Saddam Hussein’s rule in his country.

For the full article, check it out from CNS here. I want to post just a portion here:

“We have come … to express our gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifices made by these great warriors, soldiers, in freeing the Iraqi people and in helping us in Iraq recover from tyranny and dictatorship,” Jawad Karim al-Bolani, Iraq’s minister of the interior, said through a translator to a handful of journalists in the lobby of the medical center.

“We also want to express our gratitude to the families of all these great men and women and express how important their sacrifices are for our nation,” he added.

Bolani’s visit with troops comes on the heels of Sen. Barack Obama’s (D-Ill.) recent trip to the Middle East, where the Democratic presidential candidate caused a stir when he canceled a planned visit to wounded American soldiers.

Why isn’t this in the MSM media coveri….? uh, never mind.

T. Boone Pickens Has An Answer (VIDEO)

In case y’all haven’t seen this commercial, you should. Everyone rails against “big oil,” but there’s no bigger oilman in American than T. Boone Pickens. No, he’s not running for any office, but he does want you to know that HE is the one who is paying for this ad and the upcoming investments he’s going to make. He’s putting his interests for this country above all his own private oil interests, and recognizes that we are in a crisis with our dependency on foreign oil.

I for one admire the man for this stand; do you see anyone else of his stature doing something like this? I don’t. He’s about to launch (and please check out his awesome production video here) his own plan toward our independence on foreign resources. Watch the now-famous commercial here.

“There Are People Who Want to Kill Us” (VIDEO)

This is a fantastic new video produced by Progress for America, and it’s one we should all watch to remember what this upcoming September 11th anniversary is all about.

This is from their press release when this video was sent out on September 7th:

WASHINGTON - Progress for America (PFA) today began an issue advocacy effort that includes television advertising on national cable and on broadcast in Missouri, placing a sharp focus on the War on Terror. The first flight of ads began today and runs through next week.

“In the 1990s we reacted to terror, and re-actions are what led us to the horrific tragedies of 9/11. We must fight terrorists abroad so we don’t have to face them at home,” said David Beamer, father of flight 93 hero, Todd Beamer. “The will to fight and win the War on Terror will help ensure my son is one of the last people to die in a terrorist attack, instead of one of the first.”

The ad seeks to remind Americans of why the U.S. and its allies are fighting the war on terror. “Many seem to have forgotten the evil that happened only five years ago,” the ad plays. It then chillingly runs through a list of the attacks terrorists have launched against the U.S. with bold images that take the viewer back to the time of the terrifying events. The ad links those events over the last decade to the efforts to kill and capture terrorists still threatening the U.S. The ad closes with, “the War on Terror is a war for our country’s freedom, security and survival.”

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’ve known this for a while now. If more people don’t start waking up and realizing this on a daily basis, we will soon see the demise of this country. Ever vigilant we should be.
