…but that doesn’t stop ‘em from trying! Since Wild Bill and I broke the Foley “alleged” scandal, Brian Ross at ABC has been desperately trying to prove there is widespread corruption in the House about this non-event. Today I heard they interviewed over 40 House pages, past and present, and they’ve wound up with zip, zilch, nada, nothing. Okay, so how much further do they want to take this?
How about this news today…ABC wants to interview EVERY SINGLE MALE PAGE who served in the House since 1995, which is when Mark Foley’s term began. What? They weren’t happy with 40 “nothing happened” responses?
From ABC’s latest report:
After interviewing some 40 former congressional pages, FBI agents have yet to turn up any evidence of direct sexual contact between underage pages and former Congressman Mark Foley.
Instead, according to law enforcement officials and several former pages, a pattern is emerging of seduction by Foley that began when the boys were 16 and 17. In cases where actual sex followed, it was not until the boys were at the legal age of 18.
Excuse me? And the crime is exactly where? Before you go on trying your liberal moral equivalence argument, what about Debra LaFave et. al?
I’m just curious…When are they going to start interviewing all the women who attended the “Edgartown Regatta and the Party at Chappaquiddick,” to see how many had had contact with Teddy *hic* Kennedy? Let’s find out how many of them went for an uneventful ride with Unca Teddy over a bridge! Or, how many former Klansmen are they going to interview about their mutual relationships with Robert “K.K.K.” Byrd?
How about Juanita Broaddrick or Paula Jones? Do these people DESERVE to have their sides heard?
Ooops.. I forgot…the Democrats live by a different template. And that template is not afforded Republicans.
Again… ABC’s got nothin’, nor does the dem party.

On Friday, 10/6/06, Wild Bill of Passionate America had his time on air on Wide Awakes Radio, spilling his guts about how the Foleygate story truly came to be when it came to outing the alleged victim, Jordan Edmund. Some in the high circles of blogdom have villified Bill, but they still run with the stories. You have to listen to Bill explaining how this all came to be, and trust me, you will be moved.
When all is said and done, Wild Bill and myself will be vindicated for our work. I myself am a survivor of a kidnapping and sexual assault, but that doesn’t mean that all alleged victims don’t deserve some form of scrutiny.
Listen to Bill’s soul-baring here. It’s 30 minutes long, but it’s worth it.
P.S. This is from me…Bill and his wife and kids are having a rough time financially. I’m imploring you to please go to his site and donate to his PayPal account. He has been assaulted by a lot of media outlets, and he has no money. He considers being able to eat fast food a luxury. What he and I have both been through has been difficult. I’m self-supportive, but Bill needs your help. Please do what you can to help him.

Today, Ann was on with Brian Wilson about what the issues will be for the upcoming elections. Obviously, the Foley issue was a topic, and Ann just ran with it. Brilliant as always, she nails it.
If only I had her political and historical acumen… *sigh*… Watch the video here.

I want you all to see an email that a gentleman named Kenneth Lamb sent to both Wild Bill and myself. Mr. Lamb has given me full permission to post this.
I read the email from the attorney.
His client is now what is known under the law as a “semi-public” personality, if in fact not a “public personality,” given the scope of the story, the breadth of its dissemination, and the fact that his client is employed as a political operative in an active campaign for the governorship.
Unless the subject’s attorney can demonstrate that you published “with a reckless disregard for the truth” in a “malicious manner,” he can go pound sand. If the IM scammer thinks this is the best legal representation he can get, he’s cooked.
I thought the most foolish part of his email had to do with premising you must have someone’s “authorization” to run his client’s name or photograph. The guy is a campaign staffer, and this is legitimate news affecting the campaign with which he is associated.
He appears publicly in connection with the campaign as a matter of his employment; does this attorney think news organizations around the world have to either get his client’s permission to have his image in a photo, or else brush stroke the guy out if they don’t? What a maroon.
Well, I guess you have to give the attorney 2 points for trying to bluff you into submission. While he is suggesting you seek an attorney familiar with civil and criminal liability, he may want to contact an attorney himself to stop having a “fool for a client” when considering exactly what you will be able to subpoena and depose if a civil suit is filed - multiplied infinitely if a criminal investigation began. There are no Fifth Amendment claims in a civil suit. Ask OJ Simpson.
To sum up what I would tell the attorney threatening me with civil and criminal liability: “Oh Br’er Fox - please don’t throw me into that briar patch . . .”
All the remarks I’ve made are my personal opinion, and in no way should be constructed to reflect the opinion of the publications for which I write. Feel free to publish this if it will get the attorney to stop making a national fool of himself.

He invited Bill to call into his radio program today, but Bill didn’t read the email in time. I encourage you all to write Mr. Lamb and thank him for his voice of support. Perhaps when Bill can get a chance to call into his show, some of us can be callers and support Bill on the air. I know I will.
Stop the ACLU is having an open trackback Friday.

This morning, Wild Bill of Passionate America, was on with Larry and Eric, “the Regular Guys,” on Atlanta’s most popular morning radio show at 96Rock to talk about Foleygate.
Tim Andrews, a.k.a. “Porn Czar,” or “Pornie” as Larry calls him, emailed both myself and Bill last night. Tim is part of the morning show. I was supposed to be on the air with them, but I had to go into a meeting as soon as I got to work, and I misssed the 8AM teleconference. But Bill did a bang-up job. Larry and Eric are both great guys, and even though they’re considered “shock jocks,” they’re surprisingly conservative in their political opinions. You can listen to them both every day from 6AM to 10AM EST at 96Rock.com. Great guys.
Here is are the audio clips of Bill’s interview, part #1 and part #2.

Just now breaking on Drudge (and you MUST cite Drudge if you mention this article), this whole IM thing with Jordan Edmund was a prank!
XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX THU OCT 5 2006 2:53:48 ET XXXXX
CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats. This source, an ally of Edmund, also adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund.
Keep watching Drudge for the latest… this is getting VERY very strange.

Dennis Hastert just held a brief press conference on Foley, the congressional pages, the ongoing investigation, and his career intentions.
Make no mistake - Hastert is not leaving because of this. And good for him.
Watch the presser here.
You can also check it out on YouTube here.
