Just an idea… but it’s worth it. If you want, print this out and tape it to gas pumps all over the land. Couldn’t hurt now, could it? It’s just a piece of paper.
Thanks to reader, Topsecretk9, a typo was pointed out in the flyer above. He’s also been kind enough to make up a .pdf version, which I will switch with the Word doc this afternoon. Thanks, Top!
I’ve got the flyer in .pdf format now, two to a page, two pages, so you have 4 in one print. You can download this flyer here.
Man, I almost fell out of my chair laughing. On Cavuto today, Monica Showalter of Investor’s Business Daily was on to talk about an op-ed in her paper today stating that Nancy Pelosi has gone from “Feckless to Reckless” regarding her recent dumbass plan to partially drain the strategic oil reserves. IBD calls on Pelosi to resign. From the article:
Despite polls showing Americans in favor of drilling more oil from America’s huge untapped supplies, Pelosi won’t allow it. She just wants to empty our Strategic Petroleum Reserve for a short-term fix to get through Election Day.
It’s an irresponsible suggestion, signaling not only an ignorance of how the economy works but also a willingness to place the nation at risk in the case of emergency.
Last Tuesday, Pelosi sent a letter to President Bush urging him to release a “small portion” of the nation’s 706 million barrels of strategic-reserve oil to bring down prices.
Monica clearly stated her case without pause, and concisely noted “we have a troll at the bridge” who won’t let us access all of our own vast energy sources here in the United States. HAHAHA. Boy, what an image….and quite appropriate, I think.
Folks, if y’all haven’t checked out this site yet, you have to. I’ve been seeing the commercials for it over the past couple of days, but until today, I didn’t have any clue as to what it was all about. Today on The Live Desk with Martha McCallum and Trace Gallagher, they played a part of one of the commercials. Martha also interviewed a young lady whose family emigrated here from Cuba when she was 3 years old.
The site is to celebrate what America means to all of us, and the fact that we live in the most phenomenal country in the world. It’s about recognizing the pride and love that we all share for America, and that Freedom is at the core of what makes her great. This is the week to recognize our patriotism for this country, and to not be afraid to shout it from the mountaintops.
Today on Laura Ingraham’s “Just In,” David Bellavia of VetsForFreedom and Jon Soltz of VoteVets were on to discuss Wesley Clark’s comments this past weekend on Face the Nation. Things went nuclear with Soltz, and he tried unsuccessfully to get his tepid point through. Two against one is never a good fight, especially if the two are specifically armed with accurate facts.
On Fox News‘ “Just In” today, Laura Ingraham welcomed a new U.S. Citizen to our country. For the first time ever, the naturalization ceremony was held at Arlington National Cemetery, presided over by Federal District Judge, T.S. Ellis. Seventy new U.S. Citizens were welcomed, including one Moroccan emigrant, Amina Thomas. Asked how she felt about becoming U.S. Citizen, Amina said it was a “dream come true.” Laura then asked her why she loved America, and I could only wonder to myself “why don’t more Americans feel this joy?”
“This is truly a wonderful day,” said Ellis, his voice cracking, as he gave an emotional tribute to the virtues of citizenship, U.S. history and the warriors buried around him. Speaking in a white-columned amphitheater dating to 1864, in front of a stone marker bearing the Latin phrase “e pluribus unum” from the Great Seal of the United States, he told the immigrants and their families: “It is a wonderful day for each of you, because today you will join the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
The judge’s passion flowed from his past. Ellis, 68, is also an immigrant, born in Bogota, Colombia. For years, he has presided over naturalization ceremonies on the third Thursday of each month at the U.S. courthouse in Alexandria. As he approaches retirement, he decided to try a different, more meaningful setting, court officials said.
“I did it to honor our country’s warriors and to give the new citizens a sense for what makes this country great,” Ellis said. The judge, known for his thorough legal opinions and an occasionally irascible demeanor, said he “didn’t want any politicians” attending the ceremony. After the immigrants took their oath, Ellis greeted each one personally, choking up as he hugged a new citizen wearing a U.S. Navy uniform.
He then told a woman from Iraq that he was “honored that you chose to be an American.”
