Iraqi Women Help Security Checkpoints (VIDEO)

Tonight on the Fox Report, Trace Gallagher highlighted a story you will most definitely NOT see in the mainstream media. We all know about the sensitivities of searching of females in Iraq. Iraqi Army, Iraqi Police, nor Coalition Force men are allowed to search women at checkpoints, so some local Iraqi women have stepped up to the plate.

As you can see, they’re already being effective, finding guns, money and getting information that no man of any nationality can in a Muslim country. Don’t ever count the women out – they can do very good things. I’m very proud of these Iraqi women, and so should you be. In the face of Islamic goons, these women are very brave.

"In the face of Islamic goons, these women are very brave."

Why not "In the face of those goons who are killing our troops, these women are very brave." ?

I find it odd that you see a video of women who themselves happen to be (kind and helpful) Muslims, who are helping our troops to search other people who also happen to be (misguided) Muslims, and yet you phrase your comment as if to say "They're helping us fight 'Islamic goons'.

When Iran was at war with Iraq (and Republicans were uniformly rooting for Iraq, our great buddies, by the way), did you used to say "I hope Iraq gets those Islamic people in Iran! - that'll show' 'em! Damned Muslims! I'm tired of those Islamic goons. Yea, Iraq!! Go get 'em!" ?

Just seems an odd insertion of broadside religious commentary in this particular video, is all.

When my (Christian) uncles were fighting in WWII against (Christians) soldiers in Germany, I'd bet that there weren't a lot of people commenting:
"In the face of Christian goons, these American men are very brave".

After all, the fighters on both sides in Germany were principally Christians (the U.S./Brits and the Germans). In Germany, the religion was being stoked up and converted into a message of war (like Islam in parts of the Mid East). While the war effort in Germany played out quite differently, the religious underpinnings and motivations on the Axis side were surprisingly similar. In Europe, it was a bunch of our "good Christians" fighting a bunch of Germany's "bad Christians" who had distorted religion into a violent movement bent on taking over the world.

I mean, if you feel comfortable with the idea that WWII was largely "a fight against Christian goons", then I'm completely OK with it. Consistency is the problem I see here.
