Romney Suspends Campaign at CPAC (VIDEO)

Today at CPAC, Presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, announced the suspension of his campaign. This has to be one of the best speeches I’ve ever heard him give, and it’s kind of reminiscent of how I felt after that one performance by Fred in one of the last debates: “Where has THIS guy been?” I voted for Romney, and I’m pissed about what Huckabee and McCain did together. Yes, I know, all politicians do it. But when you put yourself out there as holier than thou like Huckabee did from the get-go, then he loses my respect when he out-and-out lies claiming McCain was the real conservative over Romney. And the thing is, I liked Huckabee in the beginning, mostly because of the FairTax, but I knew he didn’t have a snow-ball’s chance in hell to win - and still doesn’t.

Funny thing to me, though, is Mitt’s choice of term to use about his campaign - suspension. He didn’t say he was dropping out. He didn’t say he was quitting. His delegates, at this point, are still in play. This may be a stretch, but perhaps we shouldn’t count him out yet.

Oh, and if McCain is smart (which requires another form of suspension - of disbelief) he would select Romney as his running mate.

Watch Mitt’s rousing speech here.

Laura Ingraham Intros Mitt Romney at CPAC (VIDEO)

Laura really hit a home-run with this one. She was the person selected to introduce Gov. Mitt Romney at CPAC this year, and there’s no denying how she feels about him nor how she feels about McCain.

Watch Laura “calm down” here.

McCain Speaks at CPAC (VIDEO)

Well, even though he skipped it last year, McCain came to CPAC this year obviously to gloat. I was really sad to see Romney suspend his campaign, but even more sad to hear McCain speak. He still didn’t address McCain-Feingold, Gitmo detainees, waterboarding, and barely spoke of criminal illegal aliens - he just laughed about it.

Bottom line? Still not impressed. Watch the “Maverick’s” speech here.
