Okay, the Rev. Al was on O’Reilly tonight, and he’s talking about “let’s not judge Michael Vick until he’s convicted.” What? Is this the same Rev. Al. who lead the charge against the Duke LaCrosse players BEFORE they were adjudicated guilty? Yep, that be the same Rev. Al. Except this time, the defendant is black. And rich. And a superstar athlete. Do I have to investigate why the NAACP is sticking up for Michael Vick as well?

Now, let me tell you what I know about dog-fighting, which I’ve not seen many other places. I used to be the founder and president of a non-profit animal welfare organization, and I was a certified animal cruelty investigator. These dog fights are not just some “blood sport” for sick individuals; it’s almost always an organized gang thing (or backwoods country hillbilly thing), but the admission price is an average of $500 per spectator to see this vicious act. After the entry price, most attendees can buy drugs, prostitutes, or bet on the dog fights. It really doesn’t matter to these miscreants, because the only thing they care about is their machismo and the money. The purses can be huge, and it is true the losing dogs, or dogs who refuse to fight, are often brutally killed after the fights. It’s almost like a Middle Eastern honor killing in that the spectators will know that the “weak,” losing dog will no longer produce any “weak” offspring. Lovely, eh? Selective breeding they call it.

I’ve personally found dog pits with blood literally all over every wall of the pit, and needles, coke spoons, used condoms, and whatever else you can think of. I’ve seen dogs who only want to play with other dogs when they try to break them on each other, and it’s not a pretty ending.

The “joys” of dog-fighting

Training facilities include enclosed treadmills, where Pit Bulls are tied up to a treadmill handle and made to run until they get exhausted. I’ve found undercover video from some of those training facilities, and one of the most brutal parts of training is the ginny mill. If you don’t know what a ginny mill is, just go back to that pony ride you went on at the local county fair where ponies were harnessed to individual rungs on a wheel where you rode around in circles. With dogs, the ginny mill is used to increase their blood-lust and endurance. The dog is tied to one rung of the ginny mill just after getting a bite or “taste” of a kitten or rabbit. The kitten or rabbit is then strapped right on the rung in front of them or two ahead, and the dog has to run around and around and around until it’s exhausted. Once the dog has run all it can and proves its endurance, it’s given the kitten or the rabbit as a “reward” for going for so long.

And the syringes of which I spoke earlier? Not just for the crack, cocaine and heroine users at the spectacle, but also for the steroids and pain-killers for the dogs.

Another thing is when folks meet these qualified fight dogs is that the dog is required by the rules to be friendly towards humans. Otherwise they are not often used in organized dog-fighting, and part of that reason is that the perception of animal control officers or cops is “oh, that dog is nice!” not knowing the dog has been trained to be that way towards humans, but absolutely brutal to other dogs.

These dogs are not vicious by nature; they are bred and made that way by the people who buy and raise (and train) them. People like Michael Vick. There is no excuse for this behavior. I’m doing some digging now to see if I can find out what Vick’s gang affiliation is, because I have a strong suspicion he has one. Allegedly.

Hey, everyone. Sorry for the lack of posting lately, but as I’ve previously stated, I’m having lots of problems with Windows Movie Maker. In fact, so much so that I gave up and finally just did a full re-install of XP Saturday. I’ve spent all weekend trying to get all my programs installed back and my files copied, only to find out that somehow the XP re-install did not recognize my sound device. So, Movie Maker is trying to run, but it says I have no sound device driver. Damnit! And when I go to the “Sound” panel, it says I HAVE no sound device installed. I’m about ready to throw my PC against the wall and go get a Mac. In addition to all that madness, guess who I’ve been having to deal with for support on my PC? Dell. UGH! Honest to God I’d rather have a root canal than deal with those idiots. I’ll never buy another Dell again.

In the meantime, my absence will continue for a while longer while I try to get this mess figured out.

Folks, this is only the BEGINNING of the cretins pardoned by Slick Willy, and a majority of them involve bank and wire fraud, cocaine charges, stolen vehicles, using explosive devices, and on and on and on. So please, just humor me here liberals. What in this list comes even CLOSE to what Scooter Libby was convicted of? You guys are so blinded by your hatred for Bush, you cannot see the horizon for the forest that is the evil anti-christ you think is President Bush. Guess your hero, Bill Clinton, just helped out some poor mis-guided soles who really made innocent mistakes in their lives. Yeah, right.

Former Ambassador, Joe Wilson, appeared on Keith Olbermann tonight to give his opinion on the President’s actions today commuting the prison sentence part of Scooter Libby’s conviction. Wilson unbelievably makes the claim that by the sheer act of the Bush’s commutation of the sentence for Libby, somehow makes him an accessory or accomplice to the “crime.” WTF? What Constitution is Joe Wilson reading? The lunacy never ends, and Olby doesn’t disappoint either here, with his assumptions on what the intent all along was. Does he really believe the Scooter Libby has been assured all along that he would receive a “get out of jail free” card? Don’t think so.

Olby, do you ever wonder why your ratings are so low? Tonight after this happened, only Fox News was showing all the latest updates on the U.K. bombs and bomb plots, the Benoit case, the Jessie Davis case, the candidates’ campaign chests, and every other newsworthy thing that was going on today, in addition to the commutation of Libby’s sentence. Why, then, praytell, did MSNBC and CNN spend 99% of their 60 minute shows talking only about Scooter Libby? Your BDS is getting out of hand, and thankfully it’s only contagious within your own political party.

Oh, and Keith… why do you call our President “Mr. Bush,” yet you call Joseph Wilson “Ambassador Wilson?”

Mr. Libby was sentenced to thirty months of prison, two years of probation, and a $250,000 fine. In making the sentencing decision, the district court rejected the advice of the probation office, which recommended a lesser sentence and the consideration of factors that could have led to a sentence of home confinement or probation.

I respect the jury’s verdict. But I have concluded that the prison sentence given to Mr. Libby is excessive. Therefore, I am commuting the portion of Mr. Libby’s sentence that required him to spend thirty months in prison.

My decision to commute his prison sentence leaves in place a harsh punishment for Mr. Libby. The reputation he gained through his years of public service and professional work in the legal community is forever damaged. His wife and young children have also suffered immensely. He will remain on probation. The significant fines imposed by the judge will remain in effect. The consequences of his felony conviction on his former life as a lawyer, public servant, and private citizen will be long-lasting.

Okay, I know this video has no redeeming value whatsoever, but in these trying and scary times, doesn’t a person deserve a laugh every now and then? I was channel surfing this evening, and just happened across this show on VH1 called “Girls of Flava Flav: Charm School” (or something like that), and it was insipid enough…but then something just, well, just happened. Yep, I heard it then had to do a rewind to make sure I’d heard what I heard. Yep, sure enough, I did. I’ll let you watch it and see.

Okay, folks, you know this blog has been primarly a vlog (i.e., a video blog), so I need your help on something. This post is going to remain a sticky for at least one month. I’ve had people ask for flash video, I’ve had people ask for YouTube format videos, and I’ve had plenty of folks that have loved being able to have the option to download a video in .wmv format (whether to save or just view).

So, until the end of July, I’m respectfully taking suggestions as to the format of how my readers want to see videos on my blog. I’m asking for you to please vote in the poll and let me know. Your opinion is very important to me, and I want to hear from you.

The only caveat I have is that remember if you vote for YouTube videos, you won’t get videos longer than 10 mins, and there’s a great likelihood that YouTube may pull my videos (yet again), so just keep that in mind.
