My Absence - A Brief Explanation

Hey, gang. I’m sorry I haven’t blogged much, but a lot has been going on. My work has almost tripled lately, bringing it home every day. Second, Movie Maker is giving me fits, and I can’t find an appropriate alternative to edit videos. It’s a pisser when I upload a video, choose the start and end clip points, enter a mid-clip title, then when I choose “save movie as,” the whole program craps out on me. Lastly, I’m having problems with the nerves in my left hand. My pinky is always numb, so it’s hard to type or to know that I’ve typed (or not) as I write. I’m going to see a neurologist, and might have to have surgery on my neck. So, things around here are not the greatest. Please don’t give up on me, or don’t write me off. I’ll post occasionally when I can, but when there’s something uber-earth-shattering, I’ll do whatever I can to get it posted here. Don’t count me out, okay? I’m here, but just not as able to post as much as I used to - for the time being.

Ms.U

P.S. Anybody know of any decent programs I can use in lieu of Windows Movie Maker? Any suggestions would be tremendously appreciated.

I hope your nerve problem gets better. Ask the doctor if he thinks acupuncture might help. It could help and at less cost & risk than surgery on your neck.

Why don’t you put more of your own opinion into your blog instead of just videos of other people? I haven’t really seen you take anyone on the entire time I’ve been visiting.

You haven’t been covering all of the great Iraq news, either. Hey, did you hear that the US is now arming Saddamists and Sunni insurgents after spending $500 billion of our tax dollars to try to defeat them? Patriots are oddly quiet about it. Are they waiting for Karl Rove’s talking points & approval before addressing this situation? Are we not allowed to discuss it until the Commander in Chief has explained how arming our enemy will so not-backfire on us?

Maybe I should just preemptively blame Clinton?

Still checking in everyday just in case…
Take good care of yourself :)

An alternative to MS Movie Maker could be the MGI VideoWave program series… sure - it’s ‘bundleware’, but it does allow you to save your video in just about every filetype with the ‘everyday’ program features. Not the greatest program, but it does the basics at low-cost.

Hoping for good news for you from your neurologist…

Had the same pinky problem then went over to an aerodynamic keyboard, really helped.

Try downloading a trial copy of Adobe Premier Elements. We use it to happy effect. Good luck!

Oh Jeb sweety, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Don’t know about your’s but on this planet sides do sometimes change. Ta ta.

    Orion’s mom,

So I guess I should prepare myself for bin Laden becoming our ally when he promises to overthrow Iran?

  6. Jeb Says:

    Orion’s mom,

Will you be so casual about our enemies if Bush decides to ally with bin Laden, like Reagan & Bush Sr. did in Afganistan?

Are you happy that we spent $500 billion to overthrow Saddam and now we’re arming Saddam loyalists who have benn killing Americans since we invaded?

Am I missing something or have you not given your statement any thought whatsoever?

The world’s fastest MPEG editor is VideoReDo because it does not recode the enire video. It only recodes the parts that need to be recoded; the start, the finish, & splice points. Everything else is simply fast copied. Works perfectly on MCE & XP-Pro. http://www.videoredo.com/?src=VRD2004-09-08

consider a MACINTOSH for your next computer Ms U. Then you get the incredible suite of iphoto, imovie, and idvd to edit and create with… all in all… wonderful tools at a bargain.

Good luck with the hand and wrist. Try the conservative measures first… they can always do surgery a little later.

Jeb (and everyone else), thanks for the well-wishes. Acupuncture is too late. I’ve been having regular epidural injections in my spine for the past year, and I’m afraid the time for “conservative” treatment is over. It truly scares me that when I think I’m hitting the “a” key on the keyboard, I’m not, and I have to go back and forcefully push it. It’s very scary indeed.

But I cannot live like this forever, not having any feeling in my left pinky & ring finger. Laparoscopic surgeries are more and more common, so I hope I can have a quick recovery. One of the reasons I haven’t written more (and yes, Jeb, more ‘my opinion’ stuff)is because I’m a stickler for spelling & grammar. With my current state of extremity numbness, it’s so time consuming that I just can’t keep up. Hopefully when I get my surgery, I can get back to being a 24/7 blogger - not just posting videos with no comment, but posting videos and copious accompanying opinions.

Thanks to all for your support. Yes, even you, Jeb.

P.S. To those who have offered tips for video editing software, please email me at MsUnderestimated@gmail.com. I have some questions about the programs you’re suggesting.

    Warmest regards,
    Ms.U

    Ms U.,

don’t worry about spelling and grammar. If it really matters, computers can check your spelling and your readers have grammar that is far worse than yours. When their busy not engaging people with different opinions, they’re busy writing nonsense that isn’t grammatical. Just lay it all out there and good luck with your surgery.
