American Legion Hats Not Allowed (VIDEO)
We had a local story today about a true American hero war veteran, who is a bus driver for the Gwinnett County Transit Authority. You see, he is going to be off on Monday for the Memorial Day Holiday. But this veteran, Gary Rolley, wanted to show his support and love for those who paid the ultimate price. So he wore his American Legion cap on his bus route today to honor those veterans who gave us our very freedoms. But wait…um….he got in a little bit of trouble. You see, his bosses didn’t like the hat, you know; not part of his regular “uniform.” Never mind the fact that during Christmas, Santa hats can be worn, and other times of the year, other hats can be worn. But not a cap paying homage to our veterans… Ohhhh, NOOO! Can’t have that now, can we?
Gary said when he was told he had to remove his cap, he decided he was too sick to work. And when I saw the story, I gotta admit; I could understand what made him sick. Some government agencies obviously despise an overt display of patriotism.
