Greta had Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger on her show tonight to talk about a tremendous project he’s spear-heading right now called “Operation Hero Miles,” established so people could donate their frequent flyer miles to troops and their families. From the organization’s website, here’s a bit about the program:

When started, the program allowed troops stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan to fly home on leave for free. It now gives family members of wounded servicemen and women free plane tickets to visit their loved ones recovering at military hospitals across the country. Operation Hero Miles gives ordinary citizens an opportunity to help our troops in a very direct way that makes a real difference in their lives.
This program is also being done in conjunction with the Fisher House, which is also a tremendous organization to support. For a bit of history behind this mission, you can check here. On the House floor tonight, after they finally passed the troop funding bill, Rep. John Boehner R-Ohio, let loose his emotions for his love of country, the troops, and of the indominatable desire and will to fight for freedom for not just this country, but for the free world against Islamic fascism.
If defeatocrats could only understand this true passion and patriotism, they might not have withheld funds for the troops for more than 100 days just to make a political statement. God bless John Boehner, our troops, and the United States of America.
