This is a little late, but it’s worth it. Last Sunday on Hannity’s America, Sean showed a new segment called “What Would Reagan Do?” and in that segment, Sean included the video of Reagan’s “Rendezvous With Destiny” speech (also known as “A Time for Choosing”). Even though this was decades ago, hearing this speech still gives me chills.
We could sure use a Ronald Reagan right now. Might that be former Sen. Fred Thompson? We’ll see…
During Maher’s panel tonight, the focus of the conversation was shifted by Maher to the Republicans’ ‘gay obsession with Ronald Reagan.’ WTF is he talking about? Oh, yeah, and get this; Maher has a news flash for us. Reagan did NOT win the Cold War! You’ve GOT to be kidding me, right? And per Roseanne, Reagan nearly completely wiped out the working class, and George W. Bush is just continuing in his legacy. Yeah, right.
Roseanne Barr is just abdominable. Her lack of political, world, war, history, and government acumen is both laughable and perfect for Maher’s depth of conversation/debate. Painful to watch. My friend Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters will provide further rebuttals on his blog for this one, as well. I’m going to let him do that because he’s good at it. I try to but I just wind up getting PO’d, but my doc said to watch my blood pressure.
Folks, watching Maher tonight was REALLY taking one for the team. This whole episode was “2 Barfbags Up,” but alas, my blog addiction beckoned. Dispatching with the unpleasantries now, I turn to the content of this post, for what it’s worth.
Bill Maher’s first guest was a retired Army Major Gen. Paul D. Eaton, and he acted like everything he said was spoken on behalf of all military men and women of America. I would do more honors and describe the interview, but I’ve got more video to edit. I’m going to let my good friend, Noel Sheppard of Newsbusters, do the honors and do commentary on his site when he posts about this. Noel is fantastic with rebuttals, and there are oh-so-many rebuttals to be had in just this one Maher segment.
Man, oh MAN what I go through for my friends… *wink*
