On H&C tonight, Geraldo was on reporting from Iraq, to talk about the progress since the security crackdown. After all the regular questions were asked and answered, Alan finally asked Geraldo if the troops had heard about the non-binding “let’s-lose-at-any-cost” resolution and, if so, what their thoughts were on it. Geraldo let one of the troops answer for himself.
Folks, this is nothing less than heartbreaking. I could almost feel the defeat in this soldier’s voice, and his face looked very pained to me. And I know it was not because of lack of success in Iraq; it was because of our politicians playing games with their very lives and the success that they could achieve, if our idiots in Washington would just leave them alone to let them do their jobs.
But then again, have any of you ever heard any of these “polls” ask the troops themselves about how they feel? I haven’t. If I have, I haven’t seen them. Like this soldier, I, too, am “irritated.”
No, we don’t have any news about the real Cynthia McKinney (yet), but this is Georgia’s next entrant into the looney reaches of our scariest places here in Georgia. This is Macon, GA Mayor, Jack Ellis, who has recently converted from Christianity to Islam. Nice, huh? He says he likes Islam because of the diversity of ethnicity and nationality. Yeah, that’s an attractive feature.
His Mayoral term limit will be up in ‘08, but he says he may run for a Georgia Congressional seat then. Oh yippee. Another “I wanna swear on the Quran” Islamist to look forward to. I think what will be his downfall, however, is the district in which he will run is a predominantly conservative Christian district, so hopefully he won’t have a prayer (so to speak).
As you can also probably predict, our local favorite pundit Neal Boortz is none-too impressed with this guy, either. And he said so at the Boortz Power Lunch on February 8th. I was there and stayed after the lunch, when Neal taped this interview with the local Fox affiliate reporter.
I also got a chance to listen in on some behind-the-scenes conversations between Neal Boortz and featured guest, Dick Morris. I’ll write about that later when I can get the video downloaded from my camcorder. It was interesting some of the things these two talked about. One thing is they’re both Jack Bauer fans. Heh.
