Georgia criminal court judge + criminal defense attorney = justice. All in all, the criminal loses and the justice system wins. But the worst loss of all is the defense attorney.

This happened in Georgia not too long ago, but finally the national media picked it up. Shannon Lorio crashed her car and she thought she was a goner. Then came along “Hero,” the German Shepherd stray.
From the Fox News story:
A bruised and battered south Georgia woman credits a wayward German Shepherd with rescuing her after her car careened down an embankment, tossing her through the rear window and leaving her sprawled, cut and bleeding, on the vehicle’s trunk.
Thirty-six-year-old Shannon Lorio said the dog, which has since been given the name “Hero,” pulled her by her collar off the trunk and dragged her about 50 yards through briars to the edge of a highway and let her lean against him so that she could stand up and flag a passing motorist.

This just broke on Fox, and I know there may not be a whole lot of people who care, but any time somebody dies at such a young age it’s tragic. Yet it happened today. Anna Nicole Smith was found unconscious, and recent confirmations are that she is now dead. FoxNews has the story here.

Reality star Anna Nicole Smith died Thursday after collapsing at a South Florida hotel, one of her lawyers said. Smith, 39, did not respond to CPR, and her boyfriend, Howard K. Stern, was with her when she passed, her attorney, Ron Rale, told FOX News. Smith was found unresponsive Thursday in her Hard Rock Hotel room in Hollywood, Fla.
She’s had a lot of troubles, yes, and she’s also done a lot of bad things to herself. I just think it’s tragic.
