There is a saying about the 60's. "If you remember them, you weren't there.
I think it can also be fairly said "if you weren't in the military then, you can't speak for them".
    I AM "Viet Era Vet".
There most certainly were hundreds of thousands of active duty and vet on her side. No one but Bob Hope engaged the military one on one like she did. She conducted military town halls all over this country FOR vets and active military.
ALL her actions were in SUPPORT of the troops.
You all need to get your "facts" straight and then come back to the table for a fact based discussion...rather than spouting Cointelpro placed disinformation.
Unless you like being a trained parrot.

Fonda is a retarded Hollyweirdo, and so are Robbins and Sarandon. This demonstration had nothing to with promoting peace, it had everything to do with bashing America.

If they wanted to promote peace they should have been protesting the terrorists who are trying to kill us, WHO STARTED THIS WAR. The truth is that they can not bring themselves to condemn the terrorists, only America.

They are sponsored by communists who want to take over this country, with themselves in charge, and they are too stupid to realize it.

Dear Greg "dont get it" Laden:

Jane Fonda was only a part of the solution for NORTH VIETNAM, and Possibly Communist CHINA. You need to stop quoting your own "blog" and check the actual definition of PATRIOT. She was no more a Patriot than sean penn was an international ambassador, or the dixie chicks were qualified political analysts. She WAS, however, a traitor and embarrassment to uniformed servicemembers everywhere. And really, your Dad grew is sideburns long as a sign of his deepseated need for civil disobedience? WOW!

Ms. U: Test fired, as requested.
  • Jane Fonda went to Vietnam.... AS A COMMUNIST! She wasn't there defending her country but tearing it down. So what's your point, Dan?

Anyway, I thought liberals believe Vietnam was a huge mistake, so?????
  • Jane was part of the solution more than she was part of the problem. She was a patriot in her own way.

    From my blog:

"Forms of protest included things like what my father, a civil servant with a moderately high profile, did. He let his sideburns grow long. Other protests included peaceful marches and candlelight vigils. That was nice. The occasional one day student strike put an edge on it for the campuses. But the protests also included near riots, full scale riots, occupation of college or government buildings, burning the occasional police car, and Jane Fonda visiting Hanoi."

And 'Retarded Hollyweirdo?' is not "more juvenile than saying “nyah-nyah-nyah-nyah?”

    DEAR DAN:

I agree with MsU. Your "comment" adds nothing... but it does seem to reveal the lack of depth of your thought process.
Going to the capital of the country that is engaged in War with the USA, visiting NVN military bases, posing for pictures with THEIR troops... it looked liked a damn USO tour for the WRONG side. Many legal experts STILL contend she committed TREASON. ALL Vietnam era Vets KNOW she was a traitor.
Biggest problem with her visit to Vietnam was SHE CAME BACK TO US.
  • And what exactly is that supposed to mean, Dan? That's more juvenile than saying "nyah-nyah-nyah-nyah."
  • Dan
At least Jane went to Vietnam.

Retarded Hollyweirdo? Aw, that's the compassionate right we've come to know.
