Vote Democrat For a New Direction!

Gotcha, didn’t I? Well, sometimes you just gotta grab someone’s attention. Now that I’ve got it, I’m posting this for a very significant reason – no sane person can disagree with it. I’ve heard a couple of talk show hosts today read this, and have searched the internet to try and find the author so that I can give proper attribution, but I cannot find who wrote this.

By now you’ve all seen the Democrats’ campaign slogan: “A New Direction For America — Vote DEMOCRATIC!”

Let’s analyze this empty and misleading promise.

  • The stock market is at a new all-time high and America’s 401K’s are back. A new direction from there means what??
  • Unemployment is at 25-year lows. A new direction from there means what??
  • Oil prices are plummeting. A new direction from there means what??
  • Taxes are at 20-year lows. A new direction from there means what??
  • Federal tax revenues are at all-time highs. A new direction from there means what??
  • The Federal deficit is down almost 50%, just as predicted over last year. A new direction from there means what??
  • Home valuations are up 200% over the past 3.5 years. A new direction from there means what??
  • Inflation is in check, hovering at 20-year lows. A new direction from there means what??
  • Not a single terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11/01. A new direction from there means what??
  • Osama bin Laden is living under a rock in a dark cave, having not surfaced in years, if he’s alive at all, while 95% of Al Queda’s top dogs are either dead or in custody, cooperating with US Intel. A new direction from there means what??
  • Several major terrorist attacks already thwarted by US and British Intel, including the recent planned attack involving 10 Jumbo Jets being exploded in mid-air over major US cities in order to celebrate the anniversary of the 9/11/01 attacks. A new direction from there means what??
  • Just as Bush had planned and foretold us of on a number of occasions, Iraq was to be made “ground zero” for the war on terrorism — and just as Bush said they would, terrorist cells from all over the region are alighting the shadows of their hiding places and flooding into Iraq in order to get their faces blown off by US Marines rather than boarding planes and heading to the United States to wage war on us here. A new direction from there means what??

Moreover, bear in mind that all of the above occurred in the face of the 1999 tech crash, the epidemic of corporate scandals throughout the 90’s, and the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks on NYC years in the planning which collectively sucked 24 trillions dollars and 7.8 million jobs out of the US economy even before G. W. Bush had time to unpack his suitcases in the White House.

It’s easy for the Democrats to attempt to discredit, disgrace and defame our commander in chief, George W. Bush — that’s what they do. What’s not so easy for them to do is to refute irrefutable facts, no matter how they might try.

Do yourself and this country of ours a favor and don’t be a mindless sheep or a blind liberal lap dog, bent on hate and blame-shifting simply in the name of hate and blame-shifting. Take heed of reality, use your head and cast your vote wisely in the upcoming elections. The stakes are far too high today, as America’s very future, and yes, even its very survival is now at stake.

From what I have found on the internet, it’s just been making the email inbox rounds, but I hadn’t gotten it. Thank you, Neal Boortz, for reading this to your listeners this morning. I’ve displayed my favorite directional sign above especially for tomorrow. No left turns permitted here.

The big question on everyone's mind right now: Do you think Nancy Pelosi will keep her promise not to move to impeach President Bush?

"Why should we put a plan out? Our plan is to stop him. He must be stopped." ~ Nancy Pelosi, Referring to George W. Bush on FOX News, March 17, 2005

John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI), who has been itching to impeach Bush and Cheney for years, will now become chairman of the Judiciary Committee. He is the author of HR 635, which will jumpstart impeachment investigation and most certainly pass the bill in his committee. So the question isn't if the issue will come up, but if Pelosi will push to see it through. Only time will tell.

Excellent listing, as we would expect Ms U.

Ranting and whining response Orion, not really too insightful. Wonder how often you go out public speaking and never made a verbal miscue? And your citations seem less than unbiased sources, just hand picked to back your retorts, obviously.

MacBeach makes good points, but Orion will of course ignore. And no doubt now that we have a crop of new zero seniority DEMOCRAT legislators elected...all prior congressional misfires, pork spending, lack of real progress...all that is over now I am sure.

I'll bet Bill never called it 'the internets' or THE google.' Anyway, you guys are history. Don't let the door hit you on your way out.
  • I looked at your link. You selected 10 from 100, and of those 100 I suspect there are a few I even agree with. I can't think of any congress in my lifetime that performed perfectly. What aggravates me about you Libs is that you take your little pot-shots and rarely delve into the details (where the devil is).

Let's just take item 10. I am a tech person, and I know a lot of other tech people. We all do not agree on the issue of "Net Neutrality". The Senator in question constructed a sloppy metaphor to describe the issue. Game set and match as far as you guys are concerned. Did you know that a number of high-profile tech people who originally supported Net Neutrality are having second thoughts about it? But you're not interested in talking about the issue any more. The bad analogy ended the discussion as far as you are concerned. And you think WE look dumb?

Again, there might be a few items in the 100, or even in your selection that a Republican like myself would agree to. But do you know anyone who would sign on to all 100? If so, they/you are a member of the radical left, and if all or even most of those items went your way the electorate would revolt. You may not be old enough to remember, but there was PLENTY of corruption when the Dems controlled government during the span from 1952 to 2000. The intervening years have been tame by comparison. Maybe as a reminder to the youth who have been brainwashed by the mainstream media (not to mention the older people who have MTV attention spans) we need to let the Dems take charge every decade or two. I have high hope that they will be squeaky clean and do only sensible things. But the experience of 50 years tells me otherwise. The next two years will be interesting.

PS: I have pictures of Bill Clinton holding the mouse on the Presidential laptop upside down, and another of his daughter trying to help him get started. And it was near the end of his administration when the majority of Americans were already computer literate. Should we have dismissed any technology opinion he had just because he was (and still is as far as I know) a computer dunce? Sdee how petty you people sound?

We need a new Congress — here’s why:

    1. Congress set a record for the fewest number of days worked — 218 between the House and Senate combined. [Link]

    2. The Senate voted down a measure that urged the administration to start a phased redeployment of U.S. forces out of Iraq by the end of 2006. [Link]

    3. Congress failed to raise the minimum wage, leaving it at its lowest inflation-adjusted level since 1955. [Link]

    4. Congress gave itself a two percent pay raise. [Link]

    5. There were 15,832 earmarks totaling $71 billion in 2006. (In 1994, there were 4,155 earmarks totaling $29 billion.) [Link]

    6. Congress turned the tragic Terri Schiavo affair into a national spectacle because, according to one memo, it was “a great political issue” that got “the pro-life base…excited.” [Link]

    7. The chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works thinks global warming is the “greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.” [Link]

    8. The House leadership held open a vote for 50 minutes to twist arms and pass a bill that helped line the pockets of energy company executives. [Link]

    9. Congress fired the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction, the lone effective federal watchdog for Iraq spending, effective Oct. 1, 2007. [Link]

    10. The Chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee thinks the Internet is “a series of tubes.” [Link] expand post »
