Goodbye Mr. Blair…We Miss You Already (VIDEO)

Folks, I just really can’t say much because merely watching this clip tonight brought me to tears. British PM Tony Blair is one of the few remaining stalwarts who will readily join us in our battle between good versus evil. The United States will never have another ally like Mr. Blair. He’s got more grace, dignity, and resolve in his pinky finger than does the entire Democratic party in the United States combined. President Bush and Prime Minister Blair are/were an unflappable dynamic duo, and I’m so sad to see him go. As you can see evidenced by this farewell event, I’m not the only one who thinks so.

Blair: I’m Always With You
Tuesday September 26, 2006

Tony Blair has thanked the British people and the Labour Party for giving him “the extraordinary privilege of leading you” and said he will always be there for them.

Speaking emotionally about his forthcoming departure, he said to Labour members: “I’m always with you, head and heart.”

The Prime Minister gave no clues as to when he will step down - but he paid tribute to Gordon Brown, calling him “a remarkable man”.

Speaking about his Chancellor, he said: “I know New Labour would never have happened and three election victories would never have been secured without Gordon Brown.”

Giving his last ever Labour Party conference speech in the top job, he thanked British people, saying that “leaders lead but in the end it’s the people who deliver”.

The Blairs arrive As well as paying tribute to party members he also thanked his family, especially his wife Cherie.

He joked: “At least I don’t have to worry about her running off with the bloke next door.”

Looking back at a decade of Labour rule, he listed the party’s acheivements inlcuding economic growth, investment in education and the NHS, and cancelling Third World debt.

And talking about the landslide victory that took New Labour to power, he said: “We won not because we surrendered our values but because we finally had the courage to be true to them.”

Looking towards the date he steps down as leader, he said: “Of course, it’s hard to let go but its also right to let go - for the country, and for you, the party.”

Emotional: Cherie applauds hubby He added: “The only legacy that has ever mattered to me - a fourth term election victory that allows us to keep on changing for the better.”

The answer to winning the next election will be in meeting “global challenges,” he said, adding that terrorism is the “new anxiety”.

Mr Blair insisted that the war on terror will not be won “until we shake ourselves free of the wretched capitulation to the propaganda of the enemy, that somehow we are the ones responsible”.

The Prime Minister paid tribute to British troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan but he said that if they are pulled out, “we would be committing a craven act of surrender that will put our future security in the deepest peril.”

Making a scathing attack on the Conservative Party, he told Labour delegates: “David Cameron’s Tories… my advice: Get after them.”

Mr Blair wrapped up his speech by bidding the party farewell, telling members to “keep winning” and adding: “You are the future now, so make the most of it.”

I can only hope and pray that the one who follows him has the courage and conviction as he did. We need an ally like PM Blair in this war against global jihad, and we cannot underestimate his value to everything we’ve accomplished so far. God speed, Mr. Blair. We all love you, respect you, and wish you the best for your future. We’re also praying for you and for the rest of the free world. We’re a team, and always have been. Lady Thatcher was and is a staunch ally, and I dare say that if anything truly bad happen, the world will see the might of free worlds that they’ve never imagined. Our diablo cowboy and the British orator are truly two of a kind, and I’m sure GW will still keep close contact with his true friend.

God bless, Tony Blair… Thank you for being our friend.

Watch his farewell here.
