A Speech for All Ages (AUDIO)

After President Bush’s speech today at the American Legion, and a reference to a blog post earlier by a friend, I was reminded of one of my all-time favorite movie scenes ever. It’s one of the most magnificent, goose-bump making, Reaganesque speeches I’ve heard since we lost Ronnie. I’ve thought a lot about posting it, but today it seems quite proper in light of the situation in which the entire free world finds itself.

Can you guess the movie? Listen to the audio here.

  1. Psy-Fi Watcher Says:

The movie is ID4 “Independence Day”. Bill Pullman posing as the President of the United States.

I thought Randy Quaid played the most entertaining character in that movie. He was hillarious.

Yes, Independence Day! I always found it ironic that the movie came out during the Clinton years and everyone assumed the Bill Pullman character was an idealized Bill Clinton, when it is actually much closer to President Bush. And GW is even a pilot like the President in the movie!
