On Fox Report tonight, Shepard Smith interviewed Lebanon’s President, General Emile Lahoud, one on one, asking him about Hezbollah, the war with Israel, and many things about the recent war. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say this was one angry man!
To listen to him, you’d think Hezbollah set the sun! He keeps trying to talk about the Lebanese casualties and damage, but Shepard rightly tries to confine him to just answering his questions instead of going into diatribes about the evil Israelis, and even tells him of some deaths and lots of damage the Katyushas caused in Israel. In fact, in my mind, if anything was disproporationate in this most recent war, it was the lack of media coverage of casualties and damage to Israel, and the over-play of the destruction in Lebanon.
For the first time I can recall, Fox has allowed anchor Brit Hume to finally discuss on-air the abduction of Fox reporter Steve Centanni and cameraman Olaf Wiig. This after Fox VP Moody previously cautioning all to stay mum on the issue.
On Special Report tonight, Brit said that although no major terror group has claimed their participation, no major terrorist group has dis-claimed their involvement either. Jennifer Griffin, Fox News’ chief correspondent in Israel, arrived in Gaza to try to work with the authorities there to secure their release.

As I’ve said in the original post when the news first broke, I pray for their release and very soon, and both unharmed.
Shepard Smith, talking to Greta Van Sustren, gave me at least a glimmer of hope. It is 5:54 AM Beirut time at the time of this writing, and Shep said indications are that it may resolve itself… He says they are also led to believe now that both have not been harmed in any way. But as I’ve said before, continue to pray.
