Which Is More Important?
…. or should I ask “historically significant?” A government high school graduation, or a rally for change that would be the largest single transfer of power from the government back to the people in the history of this nation? Well, as far as I’m concerned, this is a no-brainer: the Fair Tax Rally, of course! But, some Grayson High School (government school) parents and families were none-too-happy. In the metro section of the AJC (Al Jazeera Constitution… er, I mean Atlanta Journal Constitution):
Anti-tax rally, graduation not a match made in heaven
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Neal Boortz and U.S. Rep. John Linder (R-Ga.) may have birthed a political movement when their Fair Tax Rally, emceed by guys in suits, drew a rock-concert attendance. But some Grayson High school parents probably won’t be joining.
That’s because they blame the heavy traffic created by the throng of anti-income tax protesters for making them late to their kids’ high school graduation ceremony.
Ronald and Phyllis Bluming nearly missed seeing their son, Micah, Grayson’s senior class president, deliver a speech urging his classmates to choose professions that will make them the most happy, not the most money.
Eric Martin’s father and grandmother, who drove from Valdosta to attend the ceremony, never made it to the front door. Eric’s mother, Paula, said she missed half of the ceremony.
The rally and the Grayson High graduation took place at the same time at the Gwinnett Center. The rally, which drew 4,500 people and shut out an additional 2,000, took place at the convention center. The graduation ceremony was held next door at the arena. As traffic moved like a worm along adjacent Sugarloaf Parkway, motorists in the parking lot engaged in a Darwinian struggle for spaces.
If that wasn’t aggravating enough, some Grayson parents were steamed about an on-air remark Boortz purportedly uttered on his radio show the next morning. Allegedly, the talk show used the incident to take a pot shot at public education. Boortz wouldn’t confirm it, saying his quotes would be “taken out of context.”
Hell, it wouldn’t be the first time a liberal rag (and the AJC is in that class) has taken something Neal has said out of context. He’s quite often either mis-quoted or quoted out of context. So I personally don’t blame him for not telling AJC staffers a damn thing. And in case they haven’t listened to him or visited “Neal’s Nuze,” Neal doesn’t give a damn if you’re offended - and if you’re not, he’s not “doing his job.”
And if you LISTEN to Neal, you know what his (and my) take on government schools is. Neal did tell some irate callers the next day that having their kids graduate from a government school is nothing to be proud of, and that’s the truth. Boy, he made some folks mad! But, that’s a subject for another time.

Sensenbrenner Says Pathways To Citizenship = Amnesty…
“The words ‘path to citizenship’ is a buzzword for amnesty. We ought to be honest, it is amnesty,” said Rep. James Sensenbrenner, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.
