Propaganda?

You idiots over there who think you speak for a whole people need to shut your damn mouths. You say our help in Indonesia after the quake is just “propaganda?” What would happen if we didn’t help? “WWWaaaahh! America doesn’t care about us!” Not to mention the fact that the people we are DIRECTLY helping are extremely appreciative of us and other caring nations who are there with us!

Get the FFFF over it or we’ll take our “propaganda” and go home! I’m sorry but I’m sick of this “America can do nothing right” attitude on one hand, but “GIMME, GIMME, GIMME” on the other hand speaking out of both sides of their mouths. One of these days that will bite them ALL in the ass.

Jeez, too may Dhimm talking points over there… they must have “Al-Gore America” broadcast over Al Jazeera airwaves.

Tomb Of the Unknown Soldier (VIDEO)

In honor of all of the American veterans who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom, FNS’s “Person of the Week” was appropriately Army Staff Sgt. Alfred Lanier, who is the Head Guard at the Tom of the Unknown Soldier.

Tomb Vigil

If only the average American had this much dedication and resolve, they would not be screaming for an immediate pull-out of Iraq. Regardless of what some believe, this country IS worth both fighting and dying for.

To all the men and women who have served this country, in whatever capacity, I salute you. We owe you an eternal debt of gratitude. Not even hurricane Isabel could stop these men from keeping the vigil.

Have a Happy Memorial Day, and NEVER FORGET!

Tomb Vigil

Watch the video here.

Ian also picked this up later in the evening. I’ve also shared this with my friends at Jo’s Cafe, Amy Proctor’s place, Gribbit’s Word, One Big Dog, and Cao’s Blog.

“Go To War And Kill Veterans”

… so suggests the website Scoop.co.nz as an option for the “hip hop” generation, and about an upcoming event featuring none other than Georgia Congresswoman and Capitol Hill Police-abuser, Cynthia McKinney! People, take close note of the attendees of this event. None are of extreme significance, but all worthy of watching and knowledge that they are no friends of the United States.

McKinney who is most notably known for her public tussles with the Capitol Police, but she’s got a long history here in Georgia, just like her daddy does, of absolute political corruption. Don’t know anything about her past besides the Capitol Hill scuffle? Remember shortly after 9/11 when Rudy Giuliani was offered that mega $$$ from the Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, but on the condition that America accepted some responsibility for the attacks? Well, Rudy said basicaly “FFFFF you!”, but McKinney stepped up to the money plate shouting “GIMME GIMME FOR MY BLACK PEOPLE!” How TRULY embarassed I was to be from this state!

Somewhere in between there was the lunacy of her House Bill to request all documents surrounding Tupac Shakur’s murder to be made public. ???? What? As if this was a governmental conspiracy? What is it now? East Coast vs. West Wing? Whatever!

We’re still waiting on the outcome of her Grand Jury situation with the Capitol Hill police.

Now that brings me to the latest news. Cynthia wants to arm the hip hop community with “weapons of mass instruction.” Oh, please! Cynthia’s apparently hosting a “Hip Hop Power Shop” on June 10th at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Can you believe such a place exists? What a shame.

Well, according to the Press Release, here’s the details of the event:

Cynthia McKinney & The 4th Hip Hop Power Shop

Monday, 29 May 2006, 9:28 am
Press Release: US Congressional Representative

Press Advisory, May 25, 2006

WHO: Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney
WHAT: Hosts the fourth annual Hip Hop Power Shop
WHEN: Saturday, June 10th, 2006 10:00 am 4:00 pm
WHERE: Tupac Amaru Shakur Center, 5616 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, GA

Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney and the Hip Hop community are coming together to promote the awareness and empowerment of young people. We are “ARMING OUR YOUTH WITH WEAPONS OF MASS INSTRUCTION,” teaching the young how to engage in the social-political system. Congresswoman McKinney believes that young people will be able to take their destiny into their own hands, and soar to heretofore-unseen levels of achievement. To that end, this year’s H.H.P.S. will be the most informative and inspiring ever.

Confirmed as participants joining Rep. McKinney in the fourth Annual Hip Hop Power Shop: Bobby Brown, Professor Griff, Gotti, Public Enemy, Chuck D, M-1 (Dead Prez), Rosa Clemente, Davey D, Nappy Roots Scales, DJ Jelly, Monica Benderman, wife of prisoner of conscience Sgt. Kevin Benderman, Ingemar Smith, Veterans for Peace, Denise Thomas Military Families Speak Out, Rev. Markel Hutchins, community activist, Steven Waddy Georgia Coalition for a People’s Agenda, Rev. Lennox Yearwood, Baba Curtis and Minister Server and many more.

Nationally known DJ Greg Street from Atlanta’s #1 radio station, V-103 will be the Master of ceremony.

This year’s Hip Hop Power Shop will also feature participation from Mr. Tony Gray a nationally recognized radio consultant, programmer and station owner.

Events include a Katrina Tribunal, Mock Congress on the Tupak Shakur Records Release Act, poetry readings, and panels on Countering Culture: Attacks on Political Musicians and Youth, and Hip Hop History and Speak Out, and on Countering Recruitment: Realities of War and Military Service.

The Hip Hop Power Shop will wrap up with a performance by Moodswing Productions recording artist: “JR”.

COUNTERING CULTURE: CHALLENGES AND SURVIVAL FOR YOUTH OF COLOR
Arming Our Youth With Weapons of Mass Instruction

What’s coming at them:
Attack on cultural icons and leadership (Tupac and MLK)
Police repression
War on Black Youth
Dead end jobs
Cutting social support
Military recruitment and poverty draft

Options:
Go to war and kill veterans
Prisons

Real solutions:
Voter registration forms, get out the vote
Community based alternatives (have support groups table?)
Self-improvement (education, job training, talents and skills)
Building community
Empowerment and resistance

So, her optioins for the “hip hop” crowd include killing veterans? Excuse me?

And the workshops scheduled includes:

10:10 11:00 AM
Katrina Tribunal and Mock Congress on Tupac Shakur Records Act (hmmm… I think would probably be a fun thing to attend; you know, just for laughs)

11:10PM 12:00PM
Panel 1: Countering Culture: Attacks on Political Musicians and Youth

12:30 1:20 PM
Panel 2: Countering Recruitment: Realities of War and Military Service

1:30 2:20 PM
Panel 3: Countering Culture: Hip Hop History and Speak Out

Oh, joy. Should I bring my own popcorn? My own “40″? Should I wear my new “grilz,” bring my own “bling,” or should I just flash the Benjamins? I wonder if it will draw as many fans as the Fair Tax Rally I attended last Wednesday? I won’t know, because I won’t go. Just not interested. I may not be interested, but I am troubled by the listed “options” above, one being “Go to War and Kill Veterans.” Hmmmm… that’s a scary thought. Sound familiar?

Oh, and I forgot… “peace out” and “word to yo mutha” (you can thank her for keeping you in poverty).

Which Is More Important?

…. or should I ask “historically significant?” A government high school graduation, or a rally for change that would be the largest single transfer of power from the government back to the people in the history of this nation? Well, as far as I’m concerned, this is a no-brainer: the Fair Tax Rally, of course! But, some Grayson High School (government school) parents and families were none-too-happy. In the metro section of the AJC (Al Jazeera Constitution… er, I mean Atlanta Journal Constitution):

Anti-tax rally, graduation not a match made in heaven

Neal Boortz and U.S. Rep. John Linder (R-Ga.) may have birthed a political movement when their Fair Tax Rally, emceed by guys in suits, drew a rock-concert attendance. But some Grayson High school parents probably won’t be joining.

That’s because they blame the heavy traffic created by the throng of anti-income tax protesters for making them late to their kids’ high school graduation ceremony.

Ronald and Phyllis Bluming nearly missed seeing their son, Micah, Grayson’s senior class president, deliver a speech urging his classmates to choose professions that will make them the most happy, not the most money.

Eric Martin’s father and grandmother, who drove from Valdosta to attend the ceremony, never made it to the front door. Eric’s mother, Paula, said she missed half of the ceremony.

The rally and the Grayson High graduation took place at the same time at the Gwinnett Center. The rally, which drew 4,500 people and shut out an additional 2,000, took place at the convention center. The graduation ceremony was held next door at the arena. As traffic moved like a worm along adjacent Sugarloaf Parkway, motorists in the parking lot engaged in a Darwinian struggle for spaces.

If that wasn’t aggravating enough, some Grayson parents were steamed about an on-air remark Boortz purportedly uttered on his radio show the next morning. Allegedly, the talk show used the incident to take a pot shot at public education. Boortz wouldn’t confirm it, saying his quotes would be “taken out of context.”

Hell, it wouldn’t be the first time a liberal rag (and the AJC is in that class) has taken something Neal has said out of context. He’s quite often either mis-quoted or quoted out of context. So I personally don’t blame him for not telling AJC staffers a damn thing. And in case they haven’t listened to him or visited “Neal’s Nuze,” Neal doesn’t give a damn if you’re offended - and if you’re not, he’s not “doing his job.”

And if you LISTEN to Neal, you know what his (and my) take on government schools is. Neal did tell some irate callers the next day that having their kids graduate from a government school is nothing to be proud of, and that’s the truth. Boy, he made some folks mad! But, that’s a subject for another time.

It’s Possible

This is not just an idea anymore…it’s a movement! The Fair Tax movement.

(Watch Neal on H&C)

What else do you call an event about something as dull and boring as the U.S. Tax Code that draws almost 7,000 to a rally? About 4,500 people got inside the doors, which had to be closed due to the 50,000 square foot Gwinnett Convention Center being at capacity at SIX THIRTY P.M.! The rally didn’t start for another hour, yet another almost 3,000 had to be turned away. People drove from Virginia, Florida, South Carolina, Mississippi, and all over the southeast. Hindsight being 20/20, I’ve heard some of them express disappointment over radio because they only heard the broadcast en route to the rally, and at 6:30 they weren’t even in Georgia yet. They knew they had to turn around and go home, but every single one said that next time, they’ll come a day or two in advance! Some who were turned away simply went to their cars and “tail-gated” with fellow Fair Taxers so they could all listen to the rally as WSB Radio broadcast it live.

After all, who knew there would even be a thousand that would attend? Neal Boortz, the co-author of the Fair Tax Book, certainly didn’t think so himself. In fact, when Neal took the stage at about 8PM, the old curmudgeon was visibly moved. But that’s just where it all begins. Let me take you inside the event in my memory.

I left my office at 3PM, drove 35 miles through horrific Atlanta traffic, and was about the 1,500th person in line. You could feel the passion in the air as attendees clutched their books, displayed their buttons or signs, or signed petitions that were being passed around. We slowly made our way into the Convention Center, and it was packed already. The setup was fantastic, with huge screens dangling from the ceiling above just about every seating section, so everyone was guaranteed a good view of what was going on on the stage. Neal has some fantastic pictures at his site. Here’s a couple of of them.

Fair Tax Line (Photos by Carrie Carden)

Here’s what the inside of the Convention Center looked like, and above is what a portion of the line looked like just to get inside. I am not even a SPECK at the end of this line!
These are just a few of the supporters waving their signs of support inside the center.

Once I got inside, I hunted down a t-shirt, but to no avail - sold out. I did get a signed book, well, two actually, and a “fairtax.org” stamp for money:

What the heck… I figure if I stamp all of my bills, at least ONE of them might prompt someone who knows nothing about HR25/S.25, HR5 to at least look at the bill they’ve just been given from the store clerk, go “what’s fair tax?” and then go to the internet to read about it. Oh, well.. back to the rally…

FairTaxDollar.jpg

Neal & IRS LogoNeal was first up, and spoke to a rousing applause. He told us of how awed he was by the turn-out, and that it spoke volumes to him of just what this had become. He was actually surprised because he thought people wouldn’t come because it was the night of the American Idol finale (oh, please!). He also let us know that not only did the Gwinnett Convention Center DONATE the facility and time, but the stage, lighting, sound equipment, video screens, etc., were also all donated for the cause!Neal spoke about the Fair Tax, then introduced Congressman John Linder. They both engaged the audience in rapt attention, raucous applause, and cat-calls when the IRS was mentioned. Then, as we’d been promised, Congressman Linder came bearing good news. In the past week, Hastert’s office had been in contact with Linder’s office, and Hastert has set aside a one-hour block of face-to-face time for Congressman Linder to discuss the Fair Tax (HR25) with President Bush! That eclipsed the other good news we would receive by video from Sen. Saxby Chambliss later on, that finally Sen. Johnny Isaakson has signed on to co-sponsor the bill with Sen. Chambliss! Neal also reminded us that the Fair Tax will be the single largest transfer of power from the politicians and government, back to the people, in the history of this country.
Then Sean joined the fray. Sean came prepared with written questions he’d gotten from his listeners that day as he broadcast from Neal’s studio at WSB Radio. Sean proposed the questions to both Congressman Linder & Neal, and you know that Neal brought the most howls with his wry sense of humor.

Sean Linder & Backdrop

As they talked up the Fair Tax, Congressman Linder reminded us that before the Revolutionary War, a clear 2/3 of the people didn’t want to have anything to do with a battle against the British Crown. But due to the hard work and persistent of a few determined people who yearned for their liberty, they fought all rationality and the majority who were okay with the status quo, and forged ahead to secure that very freedom that we have today. If it weren’t for those determined few, who knows what our America would be like today? Many thanks go to them.

Sean had to hurry off to do Hannity & Colmes from the Atlanta Fox affiliate, so he came in specifically to be with us for that 20-minute period of time. Sean really gets it. Next up, former senatorial candidate, Herman Cain.

Herman Cain

For those of you who’ve never been blessed enough to hear Herman Cain speak, you have no idea what you’re missing. I am really sorry he lost out that campaign to Johny Isaakson in GA, because Herman Cain is TRULY a dedicated REAGAN conservative Republican, and he is wholly behind the Fair Tax. In fact, he sits in for Neal on his show when Neal’s out. Neal’s affiliates will accept NO OTHER substitute except for Herman Cain. Otherwise, they prefer to just run a “best of” in Neal’s absence.

Herman regaled us with anecdotal stories about his grandfather, who was a poor Georgia dirt farmer. He remembered that going into town, his grandfather used to say to the kids “them that’s goin, get on the wagon… them that ain’t, GET OUT OF THE WAY!” The audience went WILD! He reminded us that those who want to forge ahead and make change in the world should use that analogy in our lives if we want to affect change. He had the audience, at the appropriate times, shouting “GET OUT OF THE WAY!” A lot of people were yelling “AMEN, REV. CAIN!” I don’t know if he’s a reverend or not, but he definitely moves me. In fact, the gentleman next to me said “Lord, if he keeps this up, I’m gonna start speaking in tongues!” That was not only humorous, it was also true. Herman Cain is riveting. He didn’t stop there.

He continued stories about his grandfather, about when all the potatoes had been pulled from the ground and loaded on his truck, that all the kids would load in the truck with him. He said his grandfather didn’t take the smooth, already-dug grooves in the road. Herman CainRather, his grandfather drove over every bump, rock, rut, etc., and when they came to the market, he asked his grandfather, “why didn’t you just take the regular road instead of making the ride so rough?” He said it was then he noticed that back in the truck bed, all the big potatoes had risen to the top; and all of the little potatoes had settled at the bottom. Then he turned his attention directly forward, and forcefully shouted “.. and YOU ARE THE BIG POTATOES OF AMERICA!”

My God, I though it was the second coming! Would the roof stay on? Or would the trembling of the building turn out to be just be the response of the crowd? Either way, it was absolutely electrifying! And talk about feeling empowered.. WOW! I have goosebumps just remembering it as I write! He definitely had the crowd motivated, and that’s what made us feel so good. That we ARE the ones who want change, and are determined enough to see it through. There was also a tangible sense of camaraderie in the building, as if we have all just been reminded of our mission, and accepted the challenge.

John Stossel of ABC also came to speak for a few minutes, and he gave us this amazing tidbit: 1% of the people of this planet affect change; 9% of the people watch change being affected; and the other 90% wake up one day and say “what happened?” We ARE that One Percent!!!Neal & Stossel

I’m sick to death of those people who support the Fair Tax, but don’t participate in these events or even sign petitions because of their defeatist attitudes. “Oh, it’s a good idea, but it will never happen,” or “well, it won’t really work because of XYZ.” If our founding fathers had had that attitude, then… well, I don’t even want to ponder that lunacy.

If the patriots of the revolutionary war can do something as monumental as they did, then can’t this bunch of “potatoes” do even less? Let’s do it, everyone… let’s get rid of the IRS, and get the government out of our lives!

Folks, I’m here to tell you; after what I witnessed at the rally, I cannot and will not be defeatist about it. Everything good or bad that exists today in our country was brought about by grassroots movements. And if there’s one thing I learned last Wednesday, it is this: IT’S POSSIBLE!

The Fair Tax Book : Saying Goodbye to the Income Tax and the IRS

Buy the book TODAY (click the above link). Heck, buy 2 or 5, and send them to friends! And many thanks to Ken Hoaglandthe Americans for Fair Taxation, who sponsored the event. Group President Ken Hoagland (right) also spoke to a roundly appreciative crowd.

This week we’re fortunate enough to have a professional video produced by the folks at Americans for Fair Taxation. It gives a good overview of taxation in America, grassroots movements (and the FairTax initiative is definitely a grassroots issue!), and some good information about the FairTax and how it works. If you have a friend or family member who is not familiar with the FairTax, just have them watch this video. It’s less than 20 minutes long, and definitely worth your time!

The Fair Tax Rally - by Neal Boortz

Guys, I am having problems with my digital camera, so for now, I just want to post what Neal had to say about the rally last night. We are all overwhelmed, and exhilirated at the same time. He’s also got a lot of pictures his photographer shot. You shoulda been there. Perhaps you can in the future.

JUST A STUNNING SUCCESS

… and a long night, by the way. The FairTax Rally at the Gwinnett Convention Center was an amazing success. I was wrong. Thousands of people will show up, even on the night of the American Idol final show, to show their support for getting rid of our present anti-growth and anti-achievement tax code and replacing it with a simple national retail sales tax that allows people to save and invest without taxes, that allows businesses to invest in capital and labor without tax consequences, that would eliminate the tax compliance nightmare for tens of millions of Americans and American businesses, and that would constitute the largest transfer of power from the politicians to the people since this Republic was formed.

About 40 minutes before the rally was scheduled to begin I decided to take a peak at the crowd. They showed me to a darkened room above the convention center floor with a wall of windows. Friends, I couldn’t believe what I saw. Belinda and Royal were on stage entertaining an already-packed convention hall. Six giant projection screens brought the stage close to every seat … and every seat was filled with additional people lining the walls. I was stunned. These people weren’t there to see me … I’ve made plenty of appearances in Atlanta, and most folks know that I’m a big disappointment in person. They were there to show their support for The FairTax. Herman Cain joined me in that room … saw the crowd … and said that a revolution has been ignited. From his lips to God’s ears.

Some people really deserve thanks. Sean Hannity dipped into his own pocket to charter a jet to come to Atlanta for the rally. He stopped in Washington to pick up Congressman John Linder, the author of H.R. 25, the FairTax Act. Amazing guy. ABC’s John Stossel stopped by the rally after a signing for his book “Myths, Lies and Downright Stupidity.” As a reporter for ABC News John couldn’t endorse a particular tax reform proposal, but he did talk to the crowd about the abuses and absurdities under the present system. John Hoagland from Americans for Fair Taxation addressed the crowd, as did Herman Cain. Now there is one sensational speaker .. Herman Cain He brought the house down more than a few times.

A special thanks to my good friends Banks & Shane. This Atlanta-based band showed the crowd why they’ve been such a smashing success for over 30 years. The entire band donated their time to the FairTax Rally. Paul Shane wrote a FairTax song … and the crowd loved it. We’ll get it recorded and made available for downloading!

Special thanks also to Royal, Belinda and my colleague Clark Howard for their help and participation, and to the people at my flagship station, News/Talk 750 WSB for the incredible job they did setting this monster up. Promotions gurus Michael Dobson and Neil Williamson deserve special thanks … as does Assistant PD Condace Pressley. And then there’s Dash. When the traffic backed up and it looked like Sean and I weren’t going to be able to get there on time … Dash put his Long Ranger down in the WSB parking lot, picked us up, and we were there in 12 minutes.

Congressman Linder wants to take this show on the road. I’ll be anywhere we can duplicate this crowd. In a heartbeat.

It was probably one of the single most significant grassroots events I’ve ever attended in my life, and I hope it is infectious to the 4,500+ that were allowed inside (as well as the 2,000+ who were turned away). Out-STANDING!

“Galloway” Must be British for “Murtha”

Can you believe this? Oh, yeah… I can. This is the ULTIMATE in tolerance of free speech. We’ll see how far THIS goes!

According to the Times Online Independent for a story tomorrow, it’s “okay” to assassinate Tony Blair, according to George “turncoat” Galloway:

In an interview with GQ magazine, the reporter asked him: “Would the assassination of, say, Tony Blair by a suicide bomber - if there were no other casualties - be justified as revenge for the war on Iraq?”

Mr Galloway replied: “Yes, it would be morally justified. I am not calling for it - but if it happened it would be of a wholly different moral order to the events of 7/7. It would be entirely logical and explicable. And morally equivalent to ordering the deaths of thousands of innocent people in Iraq - as Blair did.”

The Labour MP Stephen Pound, a persistent critic of Mr Galloway during previous controversies, told The Sun that the Respect MP for Bethnal Green and Bow in east London was “disgraceful and truly twisted”.

He said: “These comments take my breath away. Every time you think he can’t sink any lower he goes and stuns you again. It’s reprehensible to say it would be justified for a suicide bomber to assassinate anyone.”

The Stop the War Coalition criticised Mr Galloway: “We don’t agree with Tony Blair’s actions, but neither do we agree with suicide bombers or assassinations.”

I’m surprised Pelosi, Kerry, Biden, et al, haven’t invited Galloway to join the American Democratic Party. What a jackass! And what the hell does he know about “moral order?”
You think the above portion is bad? Check THIS out:

Mr Galloway yesterday made a surprise appearance on Cuban television with the Caribbean island’s Communist dictator, Fidel Castro - whom he defended as a “lion” in a political world populated by “monkeys”.

Mr Galloway shocked panellists on a live television discussion show in Havana by emerging on set mid-transmission to offer passionate support for Castro. Looking approvingly into each others’ eyes, the pair embraced.

He’s over the pond, and we have our own troubles to deal with…but holy cow! Galloway (Coward-Way) is a piece of across-the-pond scum to me, and always has been. I loved it when Christopher Hitchens kicked his ass in that debate they had…

Ian has the write-up, too, at Expose the Left.

    I’m Back from the Rally

Whew! What a drive, but what an absolute RUSH of adrenaline, and an injection of pride and hope that willing Americans can come together to truly affect government change. The Fair Tax is serious legislation that deserves serious committment from grassroots organizations, and YOU need to go to the website and volunteer!

It’s been an exhausting evening and I just returned home. I will post in detail tomorrow, and have pictures from the rally.

By the way, John Stossel is GREAT! He left us with this small anecdote: 1% of the people of the world actually put change in motion; 9% of people watch the change taking place; and the other 90% wake up one day and ask “what happened?”

We ARE that 1% who are willing to take it to the street.
