Too Soon? I Say Long Overdue! “United 93″

I saw the article on Drudge earlier about people who got the trailer to this movie, “United 93,” pulled from play because they said it was “too soon.” I say, it’s way overdue! We desperately need to be reminded why we’re in the fight we are now, and why it is so imperative that we protect our country now so more than ever!

Yes, 9/11 is a very sore and open wound, but denying it and shrinking from its realities is a danger in and of itself. I say we need to see more of this, and it’s been shown that some of the cable TV specials documenting the events of this day have been highly rated.

Rush had a segment on it today, too, and Debra Burlingame (her brother was the pilot of flight 77) called in to the show.

It’s not a pleasant thing to hear, watch or remember (like the photo dubbed “The Falling Man” above) – but it’s one we must keep in the forefront of our collective minds. God bless our President, and God bless the United States of America.

    9.

I can’t believe that anyone could think it’s too soon. I for one will never forget nor be afraid to be reminded of the events of that day. If we are trying to forget then it will always be too soon and we’ve lost the battle already.
  • Angryflower, your petals have wilted and fallen off.

    "greasy burrito eating cockroaches"

LOL. When you positively, absolutely have no brains, resort to third grade name calling.

Please don't stop revealing your intelligence and immaturity level, it's quite entertaining.
  • Thanks, Max... glad you're enjoying it.

I gotta tell you one thing that impressed me the most about this film - it was made with total complete unknowns. Not that any current Hollyweirdo would even want to be part of it, but I think it's a good idea.

This way, we watch the events unfold just as they did, and we're not distracted at all by acting divas trying for an Academy Award.

Good! I think more Hollywood movies should be made this way - maybe we'd start going more.

While it may be unsettling and cause the folks that got teary eyed to be uncomfortable, I agree w Ms.U. To NOT remind us, to sugar coat the events so as not to trigger the proper and unsettling emotions of seeing people attacked and killed si the wrong way to go. We obviously need a reminder. Hell, Charlie ("Duh") SHeen was quoted within the last two weeks that he seemed to doubt it really happened, just seemed to be staged and artificial, maybe planned. Yeah Charlie... and BUSH is to blame for the entire 3+ years of planning that went into it.
The movie is no doubt disturbing...it deals with, reportedly with high accuracy, very disturbing events in recent history. But we need reminders...apparently the US learning curve is about 3.5 years long...before we start hearing celebrity idiots expressing doubts about it having really occurred. Great site RUTH.
  • Oh, jpe... you are so mean! I can't believe you have the AUDACITY to actually.. .well, um... tell it like it is...

    Nevermind... carry on...well said.

Maybe this film will give our leaders the fortitude to keep those greasy burrito eating cockroaches out of America!

    W00t!
  • Robert, VERY well said. "Relive it on film so we don't have to relive it again in life."

    EXCELLENT!

Only those who want to pretend that we have no reason to be in this war on terror, only those who are afraid of stiring the fires of the American spirit once again will say it is "too soon". Painful, definately. But it is time for our short memoried friends to remember what happened and to relive this now, in film, so that we do not have to relive it again in life.
  • I'm with you -- too soon, my big old butt. WAY too many have already forgotten!
