Begala: “McCain Sat Out The (Viet Nam) War” (VIDEO)

Allright…McCain may not be my favorite right now all with his collusion with Teddy *hic* Kennedy and the illegal immigration issue, and his stance on the torture debate (although it’s been proven he himself WAS broken by it), no Veteran deserves this bullshit.

Paul Begala (read = jackass) was on Imus (read = another jackass) this morning, and they were talking about Republican and Democrat front-runners for the Presidential race in ‘08. Apparently Imus is a huge fan of McCain, because he threathed Begala several times for bespeaking poorly of McCain. Begala began by trashing McCain on the abortion issue, intelligent design, etc. But then it gets ugly….

Imus: For you to say anything about McCain, considering who you were hooked up with, (unintelligible) hiding over there in England, ducking Viet Nam. I mean, this was disgraceful! If I were you, I would just say, well… I would just opt out of criticizing McCain… this is uh… uh..

Begala: As McCain himself once pointed out at one of those gridiron dinners, McCain himself sat the war out, as well!

Imus: Well, yeah, but he was in a prison camp!

Begala: (hearty laughter)

Imus: You know, not…

Begala: Oh, likely story. That’s a convenient excuse…6 years of torture!

Imus: (VERY hearty laughter)….

Begala: Anyway, he would do anything to get out of combat – 6 years of torture!

Can somebody please tell me what in the hell Paul Begala knows about living in sadistic torture for six years under a very brutal regime? I know I can’t - It’s never happened to me. So, albeit we have free speech and all, Paul Begala (in my mind) has NO right to go around saying McCain “sat out” the Viet Nam war because he was in a prison camp for 6 years! I’d like to see Begala’s candy-ass behind (or wrapped around) those bars!
