In the video Ms. Sultan does state she is not a Muslim, Christian or Jew; but a secular human being. My apologies for the original title being inadvertently misleading, but I must say that from her obvious and thorough knowledge (and anger) of how Muslim women are treated, I have a sneaking suspicion she was probably born into the Muslim community, but ex-communicated herself later in life. A friend of mine passed along this link to me today, and I thought “what relevance could this have in today’s environment?” Then I watched the video. I have to wonder if this brave woman is still alive. I hope she is, and I hope she is part of the new Iraqi Government - if not, a significant political figure in the Middle East. She has my vote, and my well-wishes. She is truly a courageous woman, speaking out on Al Jazeera and recorded by Memri TV about what is right and what is wrong about Islamic extremism around the world. She even gets in a bit of a spat with the Al Jazeera anchor about her views. Oh, how DARE she be a female and denounce radical Islam and Muslims!?!?

She is Arab-American psychologist, Wafa Sultan, speaking out in Qatar on February 21, 2006. What she says should be carried across the continents. She is a speaker of truth, and will therefore be ignored by the mainstream media.

Partial transcript:

“The clash we are witnessing around the world is not a clash of religions, or a clash of civilizations. It is a clash between two opposites, two eras. It is a clash between a mentality that belongs to the middle ages, and another mentality that belongs to the 21st century. It is a clash between civilization and backwardness, between the civilized and the primitive, between barbarity and rationality. It is a clash between freedom and oppression, between democracy and dictatorship. It is a clash between human rights on the one hand, and the violation of these rights on the other hand. It is a clash between those who treat women like beasts, and those who treat them like human beings. What we see today is not a clash of civilizations. Civilizations do not clash, but compete.”

She goes on to remind the anchor that it is the Muslims who started this clash, but he will hear none of it. He charges her of blasphemy on Mohammed. But she stands strong. One jackass even calls her a heretic. But again, she stands strong and is fearless to defend her positions. She also defends and lauds the advances of the 21st century, and that most of them were brought about by the Jewish people.

On further scathing diatribes by the two male hosts after she lauds the accomplishments of Jewish scientists, and proclaiming herself a human being (not a heretic, non-Muslim, etc.), she reminds them about the Holocaust that was suffered upon the Jews by the Germans. But she also adds:

“We have not seen a single Jew blow himself up in a German restaurant. We have not seen a single Jew destroy a church. We have not seen a single Jew protest by killing people. The Muslims have turned the three Buddah statues into rubble. We have not seen a single Buddhist burn down a Mosque, kill a Muslim or burn down an embassy. Only the Muslims defend their beliefs by burning down churches, killing people and destroying embassies. This path will not yield any results. The Muslims must ask themselves what they can do for humankind, before they demand that humankind respect them.“

This lady is MAD, and she has more cojones than the Hildabeast…. and for certain, more conviction and strength. She is on FIRE, and I say “you go, lady!” She is the Middle-Eastern version of Ann Coulter!

Please share this post and video with others you know. Her voice needs to be heard. I think Sean needs to have her on H&C, Rush, Brit Hume, Laura Ingraham, Neal Boortz, O’Reilly, etc.

I SUPPORT ANY WOMAN WHO IS SICK TO DEATH OF MALE PATRIARCHY. LOOK WHAT MEN HAVE WROUGHT OVER THE LAST 4,OOO YEARS. ALOT OF GOOD BUT HOW MANY PEOPLE GOT AN UNINTENDED DEATH SENTENCE UNDER MALE PATRIARCHY?

Mike, you are right. I did notice that she said she was a secular human. However, I think this still holds weight because she is from a Muslim country, and she is a Middle Eastern woman. It was perhaps not the right title, but I still felt strong enough about her convictions to title the post that way. Plus, I gotta tell ya... the way she talks about what goes on in the Muslim culture, what has happened to women, what subjugation they seek, etc., etc., I think this woman may HAVE been a Muslim at one time, even if she is not now, and has realized how wicked the extremist Muslim world is.

She is great. However, she is an Arab and say that she is not Christian, Muslim or Jew. She says she is a secular human. Big difference. I'm glad she is speaking out, but I was hoping it was actually a Muslim doing it.
