Juan Makes a Good Idiot Sandwich (VIDEO)

Jim Angle sat in for Brit Hume on Friday’s “Special Report,” probably because Brit had too many idiots to fend off for his alleged “softball” questions for Vice Pres. Cheney in his exclusive interview. The other BBNs are just jealous… CNN’s Jack Cafferty even referred to the Fox News Channel as the “F-word channel” (see John Gibson’s radio response here).

Does the truth hurt, Jack? You guys are losing in the ratings, and you don’t even know why. It’s right there, glaring in your face and you can’t even see it.

Heck, even MSNBC’s own poll about who really cared about the story, or thought it was important, showed that only 30% cared about it at all, and 70% couldn’t care less.

Anyway, it was panel-time, and tonight was a fantastic arrangement. It was Fred Barnes at the end of the table, Charles Krauthammer on the right of Jim, and that NPR idiot, Juan Williams, sandwiched in between. I knew he was sunk when the panel line-up was announced. He should have known, too, and taken his crayons and gone home. But, much to my delight, he didn’t - and provided us with a few good laughs. He was nothing more than a play-toy for Fred & Charles, both heavyweights in the politico pundit arena, and Juan is a mere puppet for the Left.

Here’s how some of it played out:

Jim first asked Charles about the status of the issue, and Charles said the story was over, especially after the public appearance of an apparently-healthy 78-year-old Whittington after being sprayed in the face with shotgun pellets in a hunting accident. Then Juan weighed in…

Juan: “Well, I think the story’s done if you think it’s about Mr. Whittington, and I hope that he’s in good health and recovers fully. But I think this story is mostly about Vice President Cheney, at least here inside Washington.”

That’s right, Juan…. it’s not at all about the victim.. it’s only about Cheney. And of COURSE it’s “mostly” inside Washington! The Washington media elite, of which David Gregory is a part, seem to think the world revolves around them. Americans realize they look like and act like spoiled brat babies, but they continue to provide us with fodder on an almost-daily basis, unaware of the Vaudeville show they’re putting on for the world to see.

Then Fred reminded us about Nancy Pelosi, and how you’d have thought she was talking about something as serious as the Whitewater investigation! He also pointed out that she was saying this is about Cheney thinking he’s above the law, and appropriately then asks “what law?” Cheney broke no law! Responsible nor accountable, she declared? For what? For not reporting directly to David Gregory?

Even though the local authorities WERE contacted within the hour, the Sheriff of that county said that reporting hunting accidents was not even required by the law there. The only “law” he broke was the one folks like David Gregory think exists - that the Administration is “required” to inform the White House Press Corp. of ALL news first before they tell anybody else. As Sean Hannity says, they got their “widdle feewings hurt!”

Jim lastly asked Charles about the WaPo fashion writer weighing in on Cheney’s choice of a pink tie for the interview with Brit, about what kind of credence that held, and if it was any indication the story was winding down.

Charles: “When you’re writing about the guy’s tie, the story is over. That’s a hint, that’s a clue; count on it now and in the future.”

Are you listening, Juan? David? Terry Moran? Helen Thomas? ~crickets~…. didn’t think so.

For a brief take on the WaPo’s article on Cheney’s pink tie, Jim had a bit about it on the Grapevine segment that day. The fashion critic said it was like “Pigtails on a ‘Gangsta Rapper’?” Huh? See the video here.

The Peanut Gallery In Action (VIDEO)

Folks, these are a couple of excerpts over the past week of the insanity that comprises what is the White House Press Corps. Is there a Constitutional provision that grants them the rights to act like idiots in those privileged chairs? No… but that doesn’t stop them anyway.

ThomasSowell.jpg
As Thomas Sowell said in his TownHall.com column on Thursday:

The same journalists who used phony documents to attack President Bush’s military service recognize no “right to know” why Senator John Kerry’s honorable discharge is dated long after his service was over and during the Carter administration, when less than honorable discharges were allowed to be upgraded to honorable.

The “public’s right to know” apparently extends only to such things as will not cause the public to reach conclusions different from those of the liberal media.

My favorite press secretary was Margaret Tutwiler, who treated reporters like misbehaving little boys, which is how they often acted. Nor were the reporters’ antics due solely to personal boorishness.

They had before them the example of Dan Rather and Sam Donaldson, who reached the big time on TV by being snotty to Presidents. At the very least, White House correspondents can get more time on the tube by waxing indignant at what they choose to portray as violations of “the public’s right to know” while the cameras are rolling.

CheneyCriminalOffenseQuestion.jpg

Honest…. during the first round of questioning, these were ACTUAL questions to Scott McClellan about the Veep’s hunting accident! (not all reporter names known… just Gregory’s)

“Are you satisfied with the way this was handled?”

“Were you aware that they were just going to allow a private citizen to inform a local paper of this?”

“Did the Vice President follow all appropriate safety procedures that are familiar to hunters?” (the illustrious David Gregory)

“Was that his gun, that shotgun?”

“Is it proper for the Vice President to offer his resignation, or has he offered his resignation?”

“Who was doing the providing, and who were they providing it to?”

“Was the Vice President immediately clear that he had accidentally shot his friend, or not?” (again, Mr. Gregory)

“How is it that the word of the shooting, and that the Vice President was involved… could have been confused or delayed?”

“Under TX law, is this kind of accidental shooting a possible criminal offense?”

Scott McClellan deserves a Purple Heart and hazardous duty pay for what (and who) he has to endure! Here are just a couple of examples… And David… Yes, this WAS (and always IS) about you! It’s ALWAYS about you!

Aaaahhhhhh…. the youngest, brightest stars of the new MSM talking heads. Guess that just means more folks will be switching over to the Fox News Channel.

Hey…. last person to leave the Washington press corps. pre-school… please have the teacher turn out the lights. It will save at least the last dim bulb from burning out before the room is evacuated.

DavidURStuckOnStupid.jpg

I have been thinking for a long time that Scott McClellan should just point at David Gregory, and say “David… you’re stuck on stupid,” but my wish never comes true (although the reality remains).
