But now, perhaps because they realize their “mass of cells” and “life begins at…” arguments don’t hold water, most don’t even try anymore. They say, “ok, so maybe it IS alive, but we think choice is more important than life.” That’s where they’re at now. They admit that a “fetus” is alive, but they put more priority on the “mother’s” right to do what she wants with her own body.

That’s truly sickening. But at the same time, it gives me hope for the end of abortion on demand in a very short time. You see, if they’re no longer arguing that a fetus is a mass of non-living tissue, then it won’t be long before the rest of country says, “wait a minute, if a fetus is alive, then abortion is murder, and all this other crap about choice is just a red herring.” (which we, the pro-lifers, have, of course, known all along).

Some comments made a month or two ago by Howard Dean, I think, really put this into perspective. In an interview with Chris Matthews, he refused to admit that his party was “Pro-choice”, claiming that the term has a negative connotation. Twenty - thirty years ago, the abortion rights people spent a lot of time and money coming up with this term, “pro-choice”, for the purpose of making the whole idea of abortion rights seeem like a GOOD thing. And what better name than “pro-choice”? There’s no hint of the real murderousness of their position, and there’s all kinds of positive connotations. “Choice” is equated with liberty, freedom, independence; ideas that this nation was founded on. So they made themselves sound like freaking PATRIOTS, when all they really are is BABY KILLERS. By “virtue” of their chosen name, they associated themselves with the likes of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Patrick Henry. But by their actual nature, they are more closely associated with Adolph Hitler, Torquemada (sp?), and Saddam Hussein.

But I digress. My point is that, even this million-dollar name the abortion rights people have annointed themselves with is beginning to be seen through. People are starting to see abortion rights as the “license to kill” that it has always been. And so now the abortion rights people want to distance themselves from even their chosen name, the name they carefully chose to make their views as palatable as possible. It took a while, but people are finally seeing through this flashy label to the horrible nature of the idea itself. Looks to me like we’re WINNING!
